WHY APPLE FAILS IN INDIA? HOW IT CAN RECOVER?

Apple is the first company which ever reached the value of $1 trillion and brand name and value is too good also but from 2018, its market share goes down like 48% to 40% in America and from 2% to 1% in India and that indicates very bad position in India but why fails in India? And how can it recover? We also know that even in china apple position is suffering because it comes to 10.2% market share in china and also drop down to 7.4% in Q1 2019 and update on 27 july,2019 Q2 results said that Xiaomi still in no. 1 position with 28% market share. Hence, there are some questions why apple fails? There are some major five reasons why apple fails in India?

As we know that price of apple’s product and everyone can’t afford these afford it like a man earns 10,000 per month and decide to buy a good quality iPhone like Xr then he want to save it salary for 6 months with spending any money. Hence, you can see that how much apple products are expensive? Price of a iPhone Xs max is start from 96,000 and goes to even 1,44,000 and price of MacBook is even starts from 46,000 and goes to 2,39,900. In 2018, 39 million smartphones sold in India but apple didn’t get too customers much because apple charges twice what customers willing to pay. Most of smartphones (75%) sold are in under $250 but apple cheapest iPhone SEs comes in $250 and iPhone 7 comes in price of $550. There are some reasons why apple products are expensive? And apple also earns too much profit from their mobile like apple takes 60% profit from selling their single iPhone and comes in 1^st place in profit taking and Samsung comes in 2^nd place by taking 25% in profit and Xiaomi takes only almost 3% to 4% as profit and that is why he sells more but there are many reasons behind selling high volumes?. Import taxes on apple product is also makes them expensive and import duty ranges from 15% to 20% on different products and China also takes much tax from Apple and make production costly but iPhone also make cheaper iPhone in 2020.

Low-level advertising

Apple starts taking attention on India and making cheaper iPhones for china and India. Apple gave shock to everyone by increasing its advertising budget to the 50% and reaches to the $1.8 billion but there are small portion spend on India like low no. of Ads in india and online marketing or opening apple card facility in india and open an apple store in india. But recently apple understands that india is huge market for them and creates billion for them and that is why they start resembling their iPhone in Bengaluru and try to manufacture their all products in india for their global market. So, if you want to work in apple then research on it. I recently said that making iPhone in china makes them costly and drop-down their sales also. You can see many posters of Vivo and OPPO in roads and many corners and they open many stores in even low tier cities or in areas but apple didn’t do this and those customers who want to experience apple live, they didn’t have this opportunity and most people didn’t have information about iPhone like in rural areas or even in cities like my friend but truly high prices give you high quality product like I buy a iPad and it works very good. So, if you want to buy iPhone then you must because there are advantages of iPhone over Android. Apple thinks that their brand name creates customers for them but apple didn’t create. Hence, apple learned that creates cheaper phones for india and china because apple loses its Chinese market also. Good luck to apple.

Price for app

If you ever use apple apps like iTunes, iMovie or apple maps then you can see that most song in the iTunes are come in price and you can also take subscription for these songs. Apple movie also takes too much money for any movie and there is less no. of original shows in iMovie but apple recently launch their 6 original shows and spend $6 billion on it. That means apple also takes money by their apps for no Indians no want to pay because buying an expensive and then spend for apps is ridiculous and this also give apple a negative review between indian peoples. App stores also charge money for apps but most popular apps are always free so don’t worry but this also a security like you can’t download any app from third party app. Hence, no virus come through any third party app and apple also give privacy more than android phones but recently some issues are in this matter and apple promise to fix this issue in their latest update IOS 13.1. Like android, IOS is not free software and if you buy any apple phone then you pay almost $10-$15 for IOS but IOS is the most powerful software of smartphone. Hence, relaxed and don’t regret about this because IOS is the soul of iPhone and App store doesn’t take any harmful and virus app like Google play store.

Less innovation

If you ever see iPhones then you notice that their internal features are very good but their camera and SIM-ejection slot have only one SIM card slot space but Indians needs two SIM card plot and this creates big problem and features like pop-up camera and fast charging is currently missing like apple give only a 5-watt charger with iPhone Xs max but apple promised to give fast charger with brand new iPhone 11 but still have the problem with flash charger because most device uses TYPE-C charger but apple didn’t and apple also didn’t use 3.5mm jack and apple give too much excuse for this problem and if you want to use 3.5mm headphones then you need buy a gadget for this purpose. Airpods and apple pencils still come with very high price. Camera of iPhone Xs is not have better night mode camera than competitors but apple fix this in there new iPhone 11 and made their phones best for camera and video but apple still have very good camera and graphics and security is also advanced in their phone and MacBook with T2 chip in their MacBook. Siri also have problem in recognition of Hindi ascent and apple maps also have some default with providing location in India.

Too much competitors

There are many competitors in India like xiaomi, Samsung, Lenovo and Dell etc. they create problem because they provide what customer needs in very low price compared to apple and they also spends too much money on advertising and provide different for different needs and cost of android is also negligible and better facilities in cheap price like Redmi note 7 and many others but they also creates high price and performance products like apple which also give faster performance than apple. But most people buy apple because it gives advance security and performance than other and apple phones and laptops also doesn’t lag after too much use also like apple iPad pro 2018 runs real adobe-Photoshop and many more unique features if you use apple then you can experience.

Conclusion: Apple still has many problems and also has some other and better competitive advantages over their competitors. But apple understand these problems and try to tackle these by manufacturing cheaper iPhones and who knows that after some years, apple launch some special apps for india but people still want to buy apple products because they attractive and give better performance in long run like no lags and security advantages and it give you very good services during warranty period. If your product is out of warranty then apple charge too much money for repair their products like my friend’s iPad pro back get break and apple charge 70,000 for replacing new back panel and this is ridiculous. But apple grow and tackle these problems also. Because apple can’t ignore India because apple plans to setup their industry in India and India is 2^nd largest market of smartphones.
